PinchMe Unboxing

Hello, lovelies!  I received my Pinch Me box the other day, and I’d like to share my goodies with you guys!

PinchMe Box

It’s a big box this time.  Can’t wait to dig in!

Toms

The first thing I pulled out was Tom’s of Maine deodorant.  It’s Wild Lavender scent.  (The pink on the label was something that leaked.  I never could figure out what.)  The scent is a bit strong.  I tried it, but it’s not for me.  For me, it didn’t last the 24 hours that it stated it would.  I like the fact that it’s natural ingredients, but it just doesn’t work with my body’s chemistry.

Gevalia

The next thing I pulled out was a pack of Gevalia coffee.  Gevalia is not new to me, and this met my expectations.  I drink my coffee with flavored creamer, and this blended well with the creamer.  It was very smooth.  I really enjoyed it!

Garnier

I then pulled out three Garnier samples: Hydra Recharge hair care, Clean+ Balancing Daily Exfoliator for Combination Skin, and Marvelous Oil 5-Action Hair Elixir.  I have tried all but the hair elixir.  I really loved the exfoliator and am considering purchasing it.  It left my face feeling nice and fresh.  The Hydra Recharge I could take or leave – my hair isn’t dry, so I didn’t need the moisturizing care.  It was nice, and I would purchase it if my hair was the dry type.

Buen Sabor

I also received a coupon for a free package of Buen Sabor at Target.  I can’t wait to redeem it as they do show empanadas pictured as an option!

SC Bottle SC Label

Lastly is a bottle of Sinful Colors in Sunburnt.  I really liked this color.  It is a very warm, eye-catching, deep coral.  It applied as I expected, very smoothly.  I have yet to find a Sinful Colors polish that has not had wonderful application – Silver Solution’s application was nice, I just didn’t like the opacity.

SC Mani

This is two coats of Sunburnt with no topcoat.  I really find this a wonderful summer color.

Unboxing: Surfs Up VoxBox

Hello lovelies! I was so busy working on school work last night that I forgot to get a post ready for today!  So I apologize for the lateness, but today I’ll be showing you the Surf’s Up VoxBox.

VoxBoxSurfsUpVoxBox
Here is the box and the card that was inside.  I love the surfboards!

Contents
And here are the contents!  Two coupons: one for a free Jamba Juice smoothie kit (now in grocery stores) and one for $1 off a Jamba Juice smoothie kit.  I have not been grocery shopping this week, so I have not had a chance to get the smoothie.  CoverGirl Bombshell Curvaceous by LashBlast Mascara in black.  I love this and have tried it.  More in a minute.  First Aid Shot Therapy for pain relief.  I actually used this when I started getting a headache.  Wasn’t the greatest tasting, but it worked!  Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun Lotion – Haven’t tried it out, but am looking forward to!  And last, Sinful Colors in Ocean Side.  I haven’t been able to do a mani with this yet, but hopefully I’ll be able to this evening and have that review up tomorrow.

Before After
Here are before and after mascara application.  It didn’t do much for the curl of my lashes, but I did like the smooth application.  You definitely need eye-makeup remover for this mascara.  My makeup removing towelettes did not work good enough to get all of it off.  I give the mascara a 3 out of 5.

All items provided by Influenster.  I was not required to post to my blog in exchange, I just chose to provide my opinions on the products I received.

Unboxing: Polish Summer Secret Santa Exchange

Hello lovelies!  It seems like every blog day, there’s something going on.  I have so many polishes I want to try out, but I am going on a job interview today and have to wear something more appropriate than most of the polishes I’ve gotten recently.  So since my nails are a plain red – Red Carpet Manicure’s Red Carpet Reddy to be exact – I will share my Summer Secret Santa Exchange package.  One of the nail groups I’m in does a bi-yearly polish secret santa exchange, and here are my spoils!

Mustache Tape Box Doodles
I loved the mustache tape and doodles on the outside of the package!  (Dongs refer to the “adult” theme of the exchanges we do.  Said adult-themed items included are not shown here.)

Scofflaw
This was the first thing I opened, and my jaw literally dropped.  I have been ogling Scofflaw’s stuff for ages, and I never have money when there is a restock.

Polishes
All the polish!  Color Clubs: Twiggie, Pucci-licious, Jack ‘n Jill, Endless Summer, Coral Cascade, Oh My Versailles, and Club Clear.  Top row from L to R: Zoya – Monet, Indigo Banana minis in Great Scott!, Hot Ice Creams for Cold Days, and No Order, Only Chaos, ALIQUID Lacquer (pronounced Ali – quid) minis in Divine Curse, Make a Wish, and A Pun on Teal, and lastly, Revlon Leather Texture in Downtown.  Bottom row from L to R: OPI – In True Stefani Fashion, China Glaze – Shell We Dance, Nubar – Strawberry Lemonade, Emily de Molly – Baby’s Got a Temper, and Scofflaw (!!!) in Love Letter to Bob Ross, Love Letter to Ziggy Pop, and Happy Little Tree.  Looks like I’ve got swatch/review material for awhile!

Essie Sleek Stick
These Essie Sleek Sticks were in the package.  The top is a silver color and the bottom is red and gold.

Ciata and Sugar Skull Ciate
My Santa read my mind in sending me the Ciaté Chalkboard Manicure kit.  I had seen it in Sephora a while back, and had put it out of my mind.  I can’t wait to try it out!  The first picture is a lovely sugar skull file!

Card Elizabeth and Hello Kitty
I also received this nice card in the package, and a Hello Kitty marshmallow on a stick.  Elizabeth promptly took the Hello Kitty pop, and had to show it off!  She did allow me to have a few bites of it.

My Santa was extremely generous.  After thanking her, I remembered that I had been her Santa back at Christmas!  She was spoiling me back she said.  All but a few of the polishes had been on my wishlist – in fact the Color Clubs, Revlon, Ciaté, and the Essies were the only things not on the wishlist!  Ciaté was not on my wishlist just because in listing things on my wishlist, I had failed to remember it.

Unbagging: Indigo Bananas

Hello lovelies!  I’m having a root canal done this morning, so today I’m going to share with you my recent Indigo Bananas buy.

Bag
I was so excited to pull this out of the mailbox on Friday!  There was a recent release of new polishes, and I picked out two minis.  I have a few Indigo Bananas already and I love the brand.

Out of Bag
This is what was in the bag minus the invoice.  Yummy, yummy candies!

Out of Packing

Here’s what I got: Rainbow in the Dark, Reign, and Coffee Cuticle Balm.

Balm
This was my first IB cuticle balm, and I absolutely love it!  The cuticle balm also doubles as a lip balm.  Only one or two of the balms are not lip safe.  The coffee balm tastes and smells like a café mocha more than just a plain coffee.  I cannot stress how much I love this product.  It is now my go-to cuticle balm.

Bottles
Here’s a close-up of Rainbow in the Dark and Reign.  Rainbow in the Dark is a lovely charcoal color with multi-tonal flakies and a bit of holo.  Reign is a deep red with multi-tonal flakies and a bit of holo.  Both are gorgeous and photos do not do them justice!

Mani
Of course, I had to try them out straight away, and it is Mani Monday after all!  I used Rainbow in the Dark as my main color and Reign as an accent.  I love how all of the IB colors are nowhere near boring!  Just look at the rainbows!

Unbagging: Harlow & Co. (ChitChatNails Giveaway Prize!)

Hello lovelies!  Today in the post I received my ChitChatNails Marta’s Favorite Things prize pack courtesy of Harlow & Co.  I was so excited!  So today, I’m going to share my excitement with you guys.

Image
Shipping bag (my address Photoshopped out).  I was so excited when I saw that the return address was Harlow & Co.  I could not wait to get back to the house and dive in!

Image
Oh my, look at all the goodies!  Let’s begin opening.

Image
First up is Hurraw! coconut lip balm.  I had never tried this before, but I think I’m now hooked.  It is trademarked as “premium organic, vegan, & raw ingredients.”  So far, I’m impressed!

Image
Dotting tools.  I’ve been wanting a good set like this for awhile, but just have not broken down and bought any for myself.

Image
Paisley nail decals by Harlow & Co.  I really like the looks of these and am trying to decide what color to layer them over.

Image
NCLA Nail Wraps!  I have been wanting to try these out for as long as I can remember.  I really like these black and white designs.  I do want to wait until my nails grow back out a bit before giving these a go.  I also like the “Get Your Nails Did” on the package. Reminds me of northeast Texas where I grew up. Ah, nostalgia.  Moving on…

Image
Polish pack number one.  From R to L: KBShimmer – Low and Be Bold, piCture pOlish – beige, and piCture pOlish – honey dew.  KBShimmer and piCture pOlish have both been on my “want to try” list for some time now.  I really like the idea of a mani using both Low and Be Bold and Honey Dew.

Image
Polish pack number two.  From R to L: Rica – Glossy Glam top coat, Cirque – Ica Valley, Cirque – XX.  I am immediately in love with XX.  It is a glitter top coat with pastel and holo glitters.  It truly is as magnificent as it appears in the bottle.  I’m not usually big on gold, but Ica Valley is very nice.

Image
Of course I had to immediately take off my mani and try out these new acquisitions.  I used Low and Be Bold with Honey Dew as an accent and then topped it all with XX.  I really like the look, but think XX would look best over something a bit lighter.

In closing, I just want to thank Marta over at ChitChatNails and Harlow & Co. for this amazing giveaway.  It totally made my day!

Unboxing and Mani Monday

Hello lovelies!  This weekend, I received a mysterious package from Nailtini.  I don’t remember ordering anything, but that’s not to say that I might not have.  (Yes, it’s terrible and I have a problem, I know.)  I also am involved in a Summer Secret Santa, so it’s possible that my Santa sent it my way.  Either way, I would like to share the unboxing with you all and show the mani that came as a result.

Nailtini Box
The Box: Mailing label is on the side facing down.  I think the sealing tape is really cool having lacquer bottles and their logo on it.  The box was pretty plain other than that.  It’ll make a great gift or mailing box.  (This is how I think.)

In Box
Inside:  Upon opening the box, I found two cards: one a general “Who We Are/What We Do” card, the other an offer from NAIL IT! magazine.  (I am going to take advantage of the free trial offer.)

Unboxed
The Polish:  Two empty mixing bottles, and L to R: Tiger Lily, Dragon’s Kiss, Blue Lagoon.  I remember seeing this set, a collaboration between Nailtini and Maryam Maquillage.  I remember looking at this set online and being intrigued most by Dragon’s Kiss (red with black glitter.)  I am impressed with the other two colors.  Tiger Lily is a very shimmery and very bright yellow, and Blue Lagoon is a wonderful pale blue with little silver glitter.

Nailtini Mani
The Resulting Mani:  I had to use all of the colors at once!  I applied Dragon’s Kiss to my thumb, pointer, and pinky fingers, Tiger Lily to my middle fingers, and Blue Lagoon to my ring fingers.  I really like the look of the polish.

Brief Polish Review:
This was my first application of a Nailtini polish despite having one in my stash.  I was very impressed at the application.  The polish went on very smoothly, the glitter in Dragon’s Kiss needed no special placing, and the colors are astonishing.  I would say that my only complaint is that the brush is a little on the overly-wide side, but not enough to keep me from using these again and again.  I had to correct my application and completely remove Dragon’s Kiss from a couple of nails.  I mention this because I have never had a glitter remove so easily.  There were no pieces that wanted to stay behind with the polish.  Overall, I give Dragon’s Kiss and Tiger Lily a 5 out of 5, and Blue Lagoon a 4 out of 5.  Blue Lagoon’s rating is a bit lower because of needing an extra coat (total of 3) to be opaque and as I see in the photo, there is still a bit of VNL.

Ratings:

Dragon’s Kiss: 5/5
Tiger Lily: 5/5
Blue Lagoon: 4/5
